FONPLATA’s Executive Board of Directors held meeting in Maceio, Brazil

FONPLATA’s Executive Board of Directors held its 193rd meeting in Maceio, Brazil, on Thursday, April 4, with the participation of representatives of all member countries. The Board approved loans for Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia, totaling USD 343.2 million.

The first loan of USD 43.2 million was granted to the municipality of São José for the construction of the Beira Mar Avenue. A loan of USD 200 million was granted to Argentina, to support the Food Security Support Program, a joint initiative of FONPLATA and other multilateral banks, which aims at facilitating access to a basic food basket for vulnerable children.

In addition, a USD 100 million funding was approved for Bolivia, for the National Emergency Program for the Generation of Employment, which will benefit more than 130 thousand families in 52 municipalities in the country's nine departments with urban infrastructure works.

During the meeting, the Financial Conditions for the Sovereign and Non-Sovereign Risk Funding Lines were reviewed, and the recent increase in the Bank's authorized capital and the approval of the new Articles of Agreement were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by: Antonio Mullisaca Diaz and Juana Jiménez (virtually), representing Bolivia; Matías Javier Mana and Silvia Pérez, for Argentina; João Luís Rossi and Leonardo Lima Chagas, for Brazil; Oscar Pérez López and Francisco Ogura (virtually), for Paraguay; and Fernando Luis Scelza and Valérie Stahl, for Uruguay. The Executive President of FONPLATA, Luciana Botafogo, was also present accompanied by the Bank's senior management.
