Bolivian Senate Pays Tribute to FONPLATA During Bicentennial Celebrations
The Plurinational Legislative Assembly of Bolivia held a Chamber Tribute in honor of FONPLATA – Development Bank, in recognition of its significant contribution to national development, particularly in fostering sustainable and cultural tourism in the department of Chuquisaca.
The ceremony took place on October 28 in the Andrés Ibáñez Hall of the Old Senate Chamber, as part of the official celebration of Bolivia's Bicentennial.
The Bank’s Country Coordinator in Bolivia, Blas Rozada, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the institution and emphasized the symbolic importance of the recognition, stating:
“FONPLATA was founded in Sucre 51 years ago, and this tribute strengthens the historical and cooperative ties between the Bank and Bolivia since its inception. We are proud to support the country's development with projects that promote integration, sustainability, and the well-being of its citizens.”
The tribute also highlights the impact of the Technical Cooperation “Promoting Sucre's Sustainable Tourism Ecosystem for Economic Recovery,” which aims to position tourism as a driver of local development by encouraging job creation, valuing historical heritage, and fostering community engagement.
FONPLATA is grateful for this honor, which also celebrates a shared history—that of an institution that was born in Bolivia and continues to accompany its future.
