FONPLATA helps to foster harmonious development in Argentina

Ph. FONPLATA

The Development Bank has approved a USD 28 million funding for the “Program to support the call for projects for harmonious development with territorial balance”, which aims at strengthening initiatives focused on demographic and productive decentralization nationwide in Argentina.

The program is totally fund by FONPLATA – Development Bank and will allow the selection and implementation of sustainable projects, through a nationwide open call for proposals, aimed at demographic and productive decentralization. The program seeks to contribute to the generation of direct employment and/or to the improvement of employability by means of a non-reimbursable technical and economic assistance, as well as to favor the institutional strengthening of the Agencia de Administración de Bienes del Estado (AABE: Agency for the Administration of State Assets).

The Leadership of the National Cabinet of Ministers will oversee the implementation of this program, which will contribute to reach three of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG): Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), promoting development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises; Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10), facilitating orderly, safe, regular, and responsible migration and mobility of people; and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), enhancing inclusive and sustainable urbanization and capacity for participatory, integrated, and sustainable human settlement planning and management in all countries.
