FONPLATA Issues Its First-Ever 10-Year Bond, a Sustainable Transaction Under Its Medium-Term Note Program

On March 26th, FONPLATA has successfully completed its fifth transaction under its Medium-Term Note (MTN) Program, registered in November 2024. The transaction consisted of a privately placed sustainable bond with a 10-year tenor, totaling USD 50 million and carrying an annual coupon of 5.622%.

Issued under the Bank’s Sustainable Debt Framework (SDF), this marks FONPLATA’s first-ever 10-year issuance since entering the international capital markets in 2019.

This is also the seventh transaction structured under the SDF, further reinforcing FONPLATA’s institutional commitment to responsible financing aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The bond was placed with Asian investors, supporting the Bank’s strategy to diversify its funding sources, expand its footprint in capital markets, and continue delivering competitive and sustainable financing solutions to its member countries.

With this transaction, FONPLATA has raised a total of USD 260 million in the first quarter of the year, notably executing—within a short time frame—its inaugural U.S. dollar issuances at 3, 5, 7, and 10 years.
