Support to Sustainable Urban and Sanitation Development in Brazil

Ph. Municipality of Brusque

FONPLATA will fund the “Sustainable and Urban Development Program for Brusque/SC – BRUSQUE 2030’’, which aims at improving quality of life for the population through investments in urban infrastructure, mobility, and sanitation in the Brazilian city of Brusque.

The Municipality of Brusque will execute the USD 37.5 million program to be co-financed by FONPLATA (USD 30 million) and local contribution (USD 7.5 million).

The increase of drinking water production capacity and coverage, the reduction of floods in the most vulnerable areas, and the reduction of travel time for light and heavy vehicles in the urban area of the municipality will be outcomes of this investment.

The program fulfills the commitment subscribed through FONPLATA's Sustainable Debt Framework and will contribute to the fulfillment of three of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals: “Clean Water and Sanitation” (SDG-6), “Sustainable Cities and Communities” (SDG-11), and “Climate Action” (SDG-13).
