Bolivia receives support from FONPLATA to promote technological innovation at the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics

The Development Bank supports the Plurinational State of Bolivia, through the Vice Ministry of Science and Technology, in implementing activities aimed at promoting technological innovation, equitable gender participation, regional integration, and knowledge exchange. Through a non-reimbursable technical cooperation, FONPLATA will support the development of the 37th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2025). The competition, which takes place from July 27 to August 3 in the city of Sucre, aims at strengthening Latin American integration and participation in global scientific events.

This annual programming competition for high-school students seeks to encourage computer learning, innovation, gender equality, and integration within the field of computer science. It is expected that 400 young people from dozens of countries will participate in this edition. Furthermore, IOI 2025 will be a high-impact platform to position Bolivia as a regional leader in organizing global scientific and technological events and to encourage young people to explore careers in technology and innovation.

The event will also offer cultural activities and opportunities for the exchange of experiences and educational resources among the countries in the region to foster collaborative networks among Latin American delegations.

With this operation, FONPLATA reaffirms its commitment to integration in the fields of education, innovation, and technological and scientific development.
