FONPLATA manifested its interest in order to be able to provide more assistance in Argentina.
The President-elect of Argentina, Alberto Fernadez, and the executive president of FONPLATA, Juan Notaro , held a meeting in Buenos Aires. The objective was to strengthen and bring closer the working links between the development Bank and the Argentinian nation.
The FONPLATA president communicated to Alberto Fernandez the predisposition of the international entity to strengthen its support of projects that they have been developing and those that they consider prioritizing in order to be able to continue strengthening development in Argentina.
During that meeting they spoke about the 24 investment projects that the bank is currently financing in Argentina which are concentrated primarily in the border areas, in health, roadway infrastructure, Port development and social development in the provinces of NEA, NOA and Buenos Aires. Likewise, they talked about a new financing program contemplating the priorities that will be established by the new government estimating that these projects could be expanded.
Juan Notaro manifested his interest in providing support and facilitating access to loans that address the demands that are established priorities by Albert the Fernandez’s team; as well as adapting the current portfolio to the priorities of the new government.
The primary lines of action of FONPLATA are in those areas that tend towards the encouragement of economic productive development as well as social environmental and infrastructure. Likewise, FONPLATA also will put at the disposal of the country it’s “green line” which has preferential rates and has as its objective to be able to finance projects that contribute to a sustainable development of the country as well as the adaptation and mitigation of the risks imposed by climate change.
Particularly in Argentina, FONPLATA contributes with financing to improve the quality of life of its citizens and through the different programs that embrace such diverse areas as addressing the demands to improve nutrition in education, and/or the construction of roads. The operations in the country seek to strengthen the agro-industrial sector, carrying out projects relating to drinking water and water treatment, the improvements of roads and integration of railroad systems. Also, the organism supports projects that seeks the improvement of integrated frontier settlements; as well as those that tend towards the modernization of the state, the construction of hospitals and cultural dissemination.
