FONPLATA receives US$130-million funding
In times when joint efforts are needed to contain the effects of the COVID-19, FONPLATA received US$130 million from the reserves of the Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU) to support the development bank's response to the impact of the coronavirus.
Recently, FONPLATA set up a COVID-19 Emergency Line to help its member countries with the funding required to address the socioeconomic effects of coronavirus in the region. These resources will help fund the mitigation of the impact of coronavirus in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
The subscription of this funding by the BCU shows the strong endorsement to FONPLATA's mission, as well as its confidence in the bank's sound credit profile, establishing a clear strategic alliance.
