FONPLATA approves USD 50-million loan to promote student well-being in Bolivia through sports and educational infrastructure
FONPLATA
The Bank’s Executive Board approved a USD 50-million loan for the Bolivian National Complementary Infrastructure Program for Sports Facilities in Educational Units, which will benefit the nine departments in the country. The works will support the development of education, promote sports activities, and improve the health and well-being of the student population at the K-12 levels in the country's public schools.
The interventions will have an impact on main and intermediate cities with more than 15 thousand inhabitants, as well as on other cities selected by the Ministry of Education. Currently, around 3 million students attend 15,219 public or affiliated schools, of which 37.4% do not have sports fields in optimal conditions.
