FONPLATA approves loan of USD 200 million for Argentina's Food Security Program

Captura Argentina contra el hambre

On April 4, FONPLATA's Executive Board of Directors, during its meeting in Maceió, Brazil, approved a loan to strengthen the Food Security Program implemented by the Argentine government, which aims at assisting socially vulnerable families.

The funding will facilitate access to a basic food basket for approximately four million people, including single parents with children of up to 14 years of age, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and mothers with more than 7 children. These funds complement resources granted by other entities such as IDB, CAF, and CABEI, which also support this initiative of the Argentine Republic.

This program is in line with the policies established in FONPLATA's Institutional Strategic Plan, which promotes strategic complementarity and coordination with other multilateral financial institutions
