The event was attended by the President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Luis Lacalle; the Minister of Transport and Public Work, Luis Falero; the Mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse; and the Executive President a.i. of FONPLATA — Development Bank, Luciana Botafogo.

The project involved an investment of USD 156 million, of which FONPLATA — Development Bank funded USD 50 million.

The new viaduct on Montevideo's Rambla Portuaria is 1,800 meters long, has two main access ramps and a 160-meter-long arched bridge, and together with the additional works in the entrance area to the Port of Montevideo will improve circulation in the area and strengthen Uruguay's major river terminal.
