Boosting skills: Reinforcement Workshop on Financial and Procurement Matters in Bolivia

On December 9 and 11, in La Paz, Bolivia, FONPLATA held the Reinforcement Workshop on Financial and Procurement Matters at the National Fund for Productive and Social Investment (FPS).

The objective of the training was to strengthen the fiduciary capacities of the Executing Agency, particularly in the following aspects:

(a) Financial management, especially regarding audited financial statements, accounting records, and the correct implementation of financial procedures.

b) Procurement management for the execution of works and consultancy services, within the framework of FONPLATA's Procurement Policy. Lessons learned during the execution of the last four loan operations (USD 250 million) were identified to promote best practices and optimize the processes involved, with a view to the two new operations (USD 150 million) that will begin in 2025.

The workshop was attended by national and departmental authorities, including FPS Executive Director, Esther Soria Gonzales, and the officers that make up the key teams of the operations under execution; Remy Martínez, representative of the Vice Ministry of Public Investment and External Financing (VIPFE); Blas Rozada Perret, FONPLATA's Country Coordinator for Bolivia; Mariana Uro, FONPLATA's Operations Analyst; and Luis Santalla, Fredy Zarco, and Jacqueline Flores, FONPLATA's Fiduciary Experts.

During this training, the FPS presented an award to FONPLATA in commemoration of its 50th anniversary and for its work to help the country.
