FONPLATA’s Executive Board approved an additional funding of USD 20 million to BADESUL, the Development Agency of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The purpose of this investment is to support the resilient reconstruction of cities and companies severely affected by climate change in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

In general terms, the program seeks to contribute to the restoration of critical infrastructure, such as roads and bridges; to provide financial and technical assistance to the companies affected by the climate crisis so that they can resume operations and maintain employment; and to implement measures to reduce the Brazilian state’s vulnerability to the impacts of climate change.

This loan, granted under the non-sovereign risk line, is an addition to the USD-10-million funding provided in the end of 2023.
