Progress in the Enlargement and Refurbishment of San Bernardo Hospital in of Salta

FONPLATA, together with Salta provincial authorities, visited the enlargement and refurbishment works of San Bernardo Hospital, one of the most important health centers in northern Argentina, to which highly complex cases from the region are referred.

The Minister of Economy and Public Services, Roberto Dib Ashur, and the Secretary of Financing and Financial Planning, Liliana Corona, welcomed the FONPLATA delegation to the hospital, which included the Vice President of Operations, Eliana Dam; Vice President of Finance Matias Mednik; Chief of Staff María Calvino; and Legal Specialist Inés Beltramino. During the meeting, they reviewed the main milestones of the project and its impact on the provincial health network.

The delegation visited the sterilization block, currently under construction. This new space will cover 517 square meters and will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to optimize surgical processes, improve response times, and strengthen hospital safety.

Subsequently, the authorities held a meeting in the administrative block, the first works completed with FONPLATA financing, which is now fully operational.

The works are part of Program ARG-49/2020, which involves a total investment of USD 28 million, of which USD 20 million comes from FONPLATA and USD 8 million from provincial contributions. As of February 2026, the project has reached a 44.74% completion milestone and 60% of the financing has already been disbursed.

The modernization of the San Bernardo Hospital will increase care capacity, optimize referral circuits, and strengthen critical services. FONPLATA's participation reflects its commitment to regional development, integration, and the improvement of social infrastructure in northern Argentina.
